Blisstory Question:

Where have you always wanted to live?

Ever since I was a little girl I've wanted to live in Pleasant Ridge. I've lived in a lot of places; none have drawn me back like this vibrant little community. While driving down the tree lined streets, it was like driving under a canopy of green "heaven"; birds were singing and people waved as we drove by, with smiles on their faces, every time!

Each summer, my friends from "PR" spent the day at the pool and swim team practice - families would gather to cheer their kids on and barbecue at the pool park. The community continuously had something going on that each family could participate in. Most homes were beautifully decorated with amazing landscapes full of flowers and lush greenery. Even in the winter, during the holiday season, the streets were lined with luminaries to light the way.

At the end of this month, my dream is coming true. My family will be moving to Pleasant Ridge. I'll be posting a sign on my door that says, "Welcome to Blissville". We are all so excited! Pleasant Ridge is still such an incredible community. When we were "house hunting", we noticed the streets are still canopied with beautiful trees, people wave with smiles on their faces and the community spirit is living larger than ever! Talk about landscapes! The Home and Garden Tour just passed and the yards on the route are breathtaking!

Blisstory question

What are some of your dreams and goals?
How will you achieve them?

For years I have said that when my daughter (the youngest one living with us right now) graduated high school (and started college) it would be time to move more freely, getting back to my own dreams, goals and visions. Like many of you, plans got altered, dreams changed, careers transitioned and life, well, just moved forward.

As parents, our main goal in life, was to help our children become well rounded, responsible, loving adults. Although they are “young” adults, I do believe we’ve been successful. They are pretty amazing young people. All are giving, outgoing, creative individuals, moving forward with their own dreams and visions.

My vision and dream, however, will always include them, as well as my husband and the rest of my family; whether it’s my biological family, my family of choice or my “earth family”. They are all part of my blissful history and future. We are all pretty much here for the same purpose aren’t we; to serve humanity to the best of our abilities, while nurturing ourselves along the way? My dream and vision is to create more and more bliss in my life and the life of others. I’ve got a few ideas on how I’m going to make that happen.

How am I going to keep my dream alive? Aside from sharing my life through The Bliss Network, the Blisstory Journal questions, using Social Networking strategies and really connecting with as many people as I can comfortably fit into my schedule, I’m creating a “Miracle Box” with my friend and colleague, Tamara Stone. For me, the Miracle Box will be a beautiful reminder of the Miracle of life and the wonderful travels it holds. Like a vision board, my Miracle Box will hold that which I believe expresses my bliss completely.

I’m really looking forward to setting my Miracle Box in a place that I can view on a regular basis. I’m looking even more forward to the days I can pick out one of the dreams inside the box, knowing the Miracle is alive.

Bliss List

For the last seven years I have spent my New Years Eve sitting in a fire station, waiting for the annual fireworks at midnight. It’s the one night a year that is a mandatory “work night” for my husband. Some years a few of our children join us; most years it’s just the two of us and 2009 other crazy people watching the clock in the city square as it ticks away to midnight.

While he was out inspecting, I took the opportunity to focus on my “Bliss List”, everything bliss past, present and future. Some of the “bliss full” thoughts that came to mind were; coffee, chocolate, good books, helping friends, sending smiles, walks in the cold (with my husband to keep my hands warm,) crying at good movies, New York with my daughter, chatting with my son, the best play I’ve ever seen, Wicked, Christmas with my family, girl talk, remote car starters, puppies, comfy sheets, amazing elections.

In 2008 I loved a job, left a job, found myself back at my kitchen table and wrote a book. I honored my niece on the one year anniversary of her life changing accident, by giving her the first copy of The Blisstory Journal; hers is truly a bliss full history, a Lifetime Movie in the making. I watched my son leave for the military and rejoiced when he returned home, for good. I celebrated homecoming nomination with my 17 year old daughter. I made snow angels, went hiking, laughed hysterically, ate cake and drank espresso. I grieved for friends lost and celebrated with new found friends. I loved beyond my wildest dreams and am here with my husband to share it all!

Rock Star Mommies

Today I met with Judy Davids of the Mydols and author of Rock Star Mommy...... Talk about an incredible person, woman, MOMMY! Judy is author, guitarist, singer, mom extraordinaire. She created our logo and is assisting in the development of our site. Rock on, Judy, and thanks for sharing your dreams and helping me live mine!

Let me share a little about her book, Rock Star Mommy. Judy is a "real-life" mom who picked up a guitar one day and decided it was time to live her dream.
