Blisstory Question: How do you pamper your skin?

For me, great skin starts on the inside. I eat a well balanced diet that does NOT include sugars and processed foods. It does include drinking a ton of water and the natural sugars found in fruits and vegetables. When I use products on my skin, I use as close to natural as I possibly can. I'm very fortunate to have tried some wonderful products.

Here's a list of some of them, as well as a brief description on what I like about each one!

MyTeava - Aside from the fact that the founder, Miriam Kleinman, is a genius and a good friend, I love that these products are the only products I've found that contain Rooibus Tea. Rooibus is one of those teas that gets little attention for their healing properties both on the inside as well as the outside. My daughter used the Clarity Collection and loved the way the "Glow" toner literally made her face radiant!

Skin2Skin Care Organics - We use the cleanser every day and have been for months now. We love the way our skin feels, especially when we include following up with the White Tea Mask. Skin2Skin is one of the few products I've used that is that is 100% made in the USA at a FDA Certified Organic Lab. Owner Ken Simpson has years of experience and is "committed to providing the best natural and certified organic tools possible for healthy and youthful skin." The Eye Gel is one of my favorites. It seems to seal in the moisture and cut down on the "circles and puffiness" especially after a night of "being on line to long!"

Sagescript Institute - Dr. Cindy Jones is constantly adding tools to her amazing "Health Arsenal". Recently I included her Parsley Eye Serum and Springtide Anti-Aging cream into my daily routine. I love how the serum seems to absorb into the skin. The Springtide Cream is loaded with Botanical Antioxidants and Vitamin C Ester, as well as Alpha Lipoic Acids. Again, I stress that for me, it's essential to use products that are as close to natural as possible. Dr. Jones uses the highest and finest ingredients in her lab, based in Colorado. You can order her book, "The Antibiotic Alternative" off of her website here!

Of course, I can't forget the Lips! I've been stuck on Arbonne's lipstick's for years. My friend and "sister" Diane Souilliere always makes sure to have an ample supply ready for me.

We all LOVE Le Cocoa Bee Chap-stick! This chap-stick is made with Bees Wax and Honey from their hives in Oxford, MI. You won't find a better chap-stick for your lips. When you are ready to buy or order yours, visit The Royal Oak Farmers Market and connect with Le Cocoa Bee Owner, Sharon Johnson or call me and I'll hook you up! I gave them out as holiday gifts to my entire family this year! Everyone loved them!

These are just a few of the products I use on a regular basis! I can't stress enough how important I think it is to take care of yourself on the inside and the outside. I'm on a mission to teach all the young people I know to start taking care of their skin NOW!!! You can connect with these great companies through our Bliss Networkers Page at

The Year of The Tiger

My sister in law was born in China and, rightly so, celebrated the Chinese New Year. Many of you may already know that February 13 and 14 were the official days for the Chinese New Year and we are in The Year of The Tiger. Additionally, it's the year of the "Metal Tiger".

What does that mean for someone like me -a Tiger, according to Chinese Astrology, celebrating the Year of The Tiger? In general, it means, WOW!!! Get ready for the ride.

You are a Tiger if you were born in these date ranges: 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1074, 1986, 1998, and 2010. Generally from around Mid February through February of the following year. Tigers always land on their feet, ready for their next act in life, pursuing it with unyielding energy and hunting it infallibly.

Having been born in 1962, I am considered a Water Tiger. "The Water element gives the Tiger a soothing characteristic making this breed a bit more tranquil. Their ability to consider feelings and ideas from other people makes them quite sensible and understanding. They are also born with a great intuitive power, which gives them accurate and excellent judgment." Their strong characteristics include: Courage, Vehemence, Self-Reliance, Friendliness, Hopefulness, Resilience, Vanity, Disregard.

You may be wondering why I am sharing this today. Generally speaking, the Tiger Year is a phenomenal year for entrepreneurs' and business owners to kick up their heels and start shaking things out. According to a recent article in USA Today by Rhonda Abrahms, this is a good year to look for:

Opportunities. Especially in a time when many of your competitors may be weakened or frightened, are there openings that you can exploit? Tigers are courageous.
Team building. When many great people are unemployed or underemployed, can you hire employees or contractors who can help you build your company.
New product development. In a year of creativity, are there new products or services that you can introduce with significant financial potential?

She goes on to say, "The tiger is a great symbol for a recovery. For those who are starting new businesses, new projects, or heading in new directions, 2010 is a year to go for it. The year of the tiger is a year of power, passion and daring. It bodes well for financial gains, new enterprises, and growth. It's a year for entrepreneurs. And it's a year for you. Go for it!" (Read the entire article here.)

As a Michigander, I couldn't agree more! I'm looking forward to celebrating my "entrepreneurial spirit" and I invite you all to join me. Stop thinking about what you would do, could do, or should do and just do it! Take the plunge. You're in a great place to make it happen - NOW!

Here's to a blissful New Year! ROAR!!!!

Taking Control

Special thanks to Aly Darin Photography, Be Well-Birmingham, Molly Livingstone and all the ladies who attended our Mini-Self Luvapalooza!

Connecting with others on a deeper level than simply meeting for coffee or swapping business cards is my number one goal. Sharing my own personal story, tools I’ve used for individual growth and empowerment, seeing others achieve their own greatness and learning to really honor and love who they are, brings that feeling of bliss to my life. I’ve been blessed to have met and worked with so many dynamic, loving people. It’s an honor to have each and every one of you on my path.

Last week was one of those incredible weeks, beginning with our Cooperative Networking Event, closing with our Mini Self Luvapalooza in collaboration with Madly In Love With Me Day founder, Christine Arylo, all held at Be Well in Birmingham. My partner, colleague and friend, Tamara Stone, and I hosted women from all over. Some heard about our events from Facebook, Linked In, and Meet Ups. One woman even heard about our Self Luvapalooza from a friend of hers in Luxemberg. People are talking, people are changing, people, just like you and me, are wanting to connect differently from anything they’ve ever experienced. We are here to help you make those connections.

The one thing that is heard over and over again at our Workshops is about the fear that surrounds this city, this state. So many are going to work (or not going to work) everyday wondering if it will be their last day on the job, years of commitment and dedication leaving them out in the cold. Many are already experiencing that job loss. Today, I challenge you to trust…trust and act. We are not a helpless society. We are powerful, dynamic individuals who have overcome many obstacles.

Last year at this time, I sat down for coffee with my friend Judy Davids, who had just been laid off from her job of 17 years. At the time, I, too was going through mergers and downsizing with my clients. We cried, we laughed and then focused on what we did have. We created our own reality and dreams by not letting the negativity and false fears keep us stagnant and on that emotional roller coaster.

Today, we both have thriving businesses. Judy will be starting a new company of her own in just a few weeks. Not to mention her band, The Mydols, will be seen in the Spring on Gene Simmons, "Family Jewels". The Bliss Network is now visited by people in 43 different countries, with over 24,000 hits a month. Tamara and I offer workshops on Self Love and Creating Miracles in your own life. We are also offering that opportunity to connect on a different level through our Cooperative Networking Events, based on the Cooperation Factor. Judy and I took control of our lives, reached out and made a change.

My closing words are this…Take control of your own life, know that you have options and trust that this too shall pass. You are one heck of an amazing person on an incredibly blissful journey!

Bliss ON!!! Teri

Blisstory question: Attitude

How do you describe your attitude?

Most of you know by now, my attitude is pretty darn "blissful". Although I have my moments, it's how I pull myself out that counts!

This question was also posted on a Linked In thread today. Here's an answer from Ellie Wellwood. She found this quote a few years ago and it changed her life. Thanks, Ellie and Charles...

Attitude Booster
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skills. It will make or break a company…a school…a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me, and 90 percent how I react to it.

And so it is with you! We are in charge of our attitudes.

Blisstory Question-Do you celebrate loving YOU?

Every Day Celebrations of Love

I hold the same belief for most holidays that I hold for Christmas, that the celebration should be as much a part of our everyday relationships as brushing our teeth! Valentine's Day, being symbolic of love, begins with the relationship with ourselves.

Historians indicate that Valentine's Day was originally established 496 AD by Pope Gelasius . Named after one or more Christian Saints who's name included "Valentine", the day was meant for lovers to express their love for each other through gifts of cards and flowers. Today, it has become the second largest greeting card sending holiday here in the U.S.

This year, I challenge you to create your own "history book version of love and Valentines Day". Begin now by honoring your first love, YOUR SELF. As parents, partners, business owners, well, as humans, we get so caught up in everyday life, taking care of everything else that we think needs to be accomplished we forget to pay tribute to ME. Whether you simply say, "enough" and go for a long walk, take a few minutes each day to focus on you and the amazing person that you are.

Here are three tips to get you started:

1. Make a list of things you like about yourself
2. Love yourself like a friend
3. Do comforting, nurturing things for yourself

Not enough tips for you? Come spend the morning of February 13, 2010 with me and Tamara Stone as we guide women on how to "Choose Me Before We", the title of Christine Arylo's new book. We are joining Christine Arylo in her National campaign of celebrating "Madly In Love With Me" day. This event will celebrate the divine in all women and provide details on how to love and honor yourself EVERY DAY of your life. Do yourself a favor, love YOU first - loving the rest of the world then comes easy!
